A module supporting the shopinfo.xml standard for the open source online shop system osCommerce is available here. This module helps shop owners in a simple way to provide their shop and product data to Internet services like shopping portals, product search engines, services for comparing prices etc. This module should also work with most of the osCommerce descendants. It has been tested successfully with XT-Commerce, Vista Nova and Zen Cart.

The download comprises approx. 200 Kilobytes. After extracting the files into the root directory of your shop (catalog directory of osCommerce) use the module's web interface for a comfortable setup. The provided file readme.html contains comprehensive information on installing, administering and uninstalling the module. No modifications of your osCommerce installation are necessary.

The free download version of the Elm@r Module has reached middle age but regarding the shopinfo.xml standard it is still working excellent. If you need an improved version for commercial use that supports Google Base and others you can buy it here. Moreover, you can ask us to setup the Elm@r Module in your shop. This is comfortable for you and has the advantage that if necessary special wishes can be realized. It will cost from 50 EUR. Please contact us.

As the module generates product data in CSV format it can also be used independently from the shopinfo.xml standard; the design of the CSV format can be controlled via parameters. You can conveniently use the module via a browser-based web interface to alter settings, analyze log files etc.

If you have problems downloading the files, try right-click and choose "Save target as...".

 

The Update doesn't contain the files products.csv, shopinfo.xml, elmar_config.inc.php, elmar/config.inc.php and the log files elmar/logs/* so that your local settings retain unchanged while extracting the archive into your installation. New constants have to be added manually if necessary. In this case see "improvements" for information.

This module is also available as official osCommerce contribution. However it gets updated rarely. Here at Electronic Market you'll always find the latest version.
