The shop data contains the information on the online shop, its website and its offered products. This data is saved in the so-called "shop file" on the web server. By default the shop file is supposed to be stored at http://www.my-shop.com/shopinfo.xml to be found and analysed by web robots. This allows shopping catalogs to collect the data automatically which leads to an increasing high profile of the online shop. (Technically this procedure is similar to the Robot Exclusion Standard which defines the robots.txt file controlling web robots of search engines.)
